ROBERT A. LEES is a seasoned attorney with over thirty years of experience practicing law in the areas of regulatory (administrative) law; the Administrative Law Courts (ALJ); litigation, arbitration, mediation, and appellate actions in all state and federal courts in Colorado, regulatory boards and agencies; asset protection, constitutional litigation, and has extensive experience in issues and legal concerns related to regulatory law and the drafting of those laws, by request, for the office of Attorney General and the Colorado Legislature for the benefit of DORA (Department of Regulatory Agencies). Mr. Lees has lectured for numerous national and local education programs. He was deputy district attorney and special prosecutor for the 12th Judicial District. Mr. Lees has litigated and advocated on issues for and against various state governments. He has been designated as an expert in Colorado Courts and has testified regarding matters of concern.

Mr. Lees’ admissions to the Bar include Colorado (1977); U.S. District Court (1977); and 10th Circuit Court of Appeals (1978). He is a member of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the National District Attorneys Association, and the Arapahoe and Colorado Bar Associations. Mr. Lees has assisted in the drafting and presenting numerous statutory amendments to the Colorado Children's Code for use by Colorado’s legislature. He received his B.S. degree, with honors, from Michigan State University and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University. He enjoys the highest rating, “AV for preeminence and excellence in the practice of law,” granted by Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Lees appears in the Martindale-Hubbell Register of Pre-eminent Attorneys and Who’s Who in American Law. This rating places Mr. Lees in the upper two percent of all lawyers practicing in the United States.

Robert A. Lees & Associates schedules numerous informational seminars each quarter for counselors, therapists, and medical providers, including doctors and dentists. These are qualified continuing education and continuing competency units. The firm advises its professional clientele in regulatory compliance, risk management, employment law, nonprofit, and preventative law including employment contracts and asset protection. Mr. Lees assists the Colorado Legislature on drafting new laws and in testifying for the benefit of his clientele and assists state grievance boards in regulatory considerations. Robert Lees was appointed by Governor Bill Owens to the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors in Colorado and completed that appointment in December 2006.
